It has been 5 months since I made my last blog. I was very busy accommodating clients, mostly invitations for children’s birthday parties. But, It was last December 2011 that I received my first and second take on wedding invites.
For the first take, Iby and Gail requested us that we start the production right after Christmas, December 26,2011 so that they can distribute the invitations to their relatives before the new year. The second client for wedding arrived December 28, 2011 (Thank you God! 
). Raymond and Anne’s wedding theme is “Cherry Blossom”. This client wanted a fully customized invitation. She chose the papers’ thickness, paper’s type, envelope design, monogram design. Our client is very hands on and very keen on details, and we really admire her honesty (there’s a time that she didn’t really like the mock up we did, and she said the truth, which helped us know what her needs and expectations are.) I think I learned a lot from this client. 
We made the invitation 2 weeks as this is a very customized invite. The client provided the layout, we just printed and assembled the envelope, invites and monogram.

How time flies so fast. When I started my own invites design business, it was just the 2nd quarter of the year and starting today, September 1, 2011 will be a different pace for us in the events industry.
In the events industry, this is supposed to be the start of the “busy months”, let me clarify that it’s NOT JULY and or AUGUST because these months are not preferably wedding, celebration months for our Chinese friends as recommended by Feng Sui, at the same time this is not the recommended wedding, celebration and event months because of the rainy season. I also heard from relatives that this is when people make “tanim” / money savings in preparation for the Christmas season, so don’t be surprised why most businessmen especially in the events industry tell you that their weakest months are from July till August.
This when people will get invites to different social functions like, weddings, debuts, Christmas parties, etc. “BER” months is when we can feel the rush of Christmas. Making long lists for gifts and making sure that we don’t forget anyone, enduring the traffic along EDSA and waiting in vain at taxi bays at the most popular shopping malls in the metro.
Christmas here in the Philippines is really special indeed, despite economic setbacks.
